Comprising an area of 5.22 hectares, this charming mixed woodland is a favourite spot among dog walkers. The main path, depicted above, traverses the wood from Westcourt Drive to Pages Lane, while several smaller footpaths branch off in various directions. These paths meander through the woods, offering visitors the chance to explore the natural beauty of the area.
Much of this woodland was ravaged during the Great Storm of 1987, but has since recovered and now stands as a testament to the resilience of nature. In the southwest corner of the wood, visitors will find an open picnic field and a children’s play area. In the springtime, the forest floor is adorned with a carpet of white wood anemones, adding to the already picturesque surroundings.
