The Brickmaker’s Alehouse is celebrated as Bexhill’s first micropub, renowned for its focus on a constantly evolving selection of real ales. These ales are uniquely served straight from the cask in a specially designed cool-room within the bar. The establishment has garnered significant recognition, including being named Surrey & Sussex CAMRA Pub of the Year 2024 and South East Sussex CAMRA Pub of the Year for three consecutive years. It has also been a runner-up for the South East Sussex CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year twice.
In addition to its acclaimed ales and ciders, The Brickmaker’s Alehouse offers low and no-alcohol beers, quality wines, and a variety of gins, whiskies, and other spirits. Bottled and canned beers from across the UK are available, alongside coffee, crisps, and nuts for those seeking lighter refreshments.
The venue is also a hub for community activities, hosting monthly live music, bi-monthly DJ sets, quiz nights, and other events. Recognised for its commitment to fair wages, it became an accredited Living Wage Employer in 2022. The pub is dog-friendly, and children are welcome before 7pm, making it a welcoming spot for all.
