A Virtuoso Concert Performance From The Biggest Selling Violinist In The World

“One of the most important violinists Britain has ever produced.” The Guardian

The Rye International Jazz and Blues Festival proudly present a unique concert with Nigel Kennedy at the iconic De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, East Sussex on Friday 6 November.

The UK’s greatest living violinist has promised an evening that reflects his love of a unified approach to all music

This will be a unique evening of classical, jazz, and contemporary repertoire from the UK’s greatest living violinist. Expect breath-taking Bach, alongside the most delicate rendition you will ever hear of A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square.

Nigel’s own compositions will feature, including a moving tribute to Yehudi Menuhin and Stephane Grappelli, who taught, mentored and inspired him during his early years. Nigel will also perform on the piano, which may surprise some but will delight all, as his virtuosic talent knows no bounds. Accompanied by his great friends Alec Dankworth (son of the late John Dankwork and Clio Laine) on double bass; and Peter Adams on ‘cello, this is a rare opportunity to witness one of the greatest virtuoso musicians this country has ever produced.

Kennedy’s talent showed itself early and he won a scholarship to the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music aged just seven.

Nigel’s inclusive and open-minded approach to all styles of music continues to this day and has won him fans all over the world.
Nigel combines a unique mix of repertoire with energy, dynamics and mind-blowing technical and emotional musicality, which will leave audiences spellbound.
