Trying to find information about my grandfather. His name was Frank Deeprose and he lived in Cooden near Bexhill. He was I believe a member of the Bexhill brass band. He died in 1965. Can anyone help with any information?

Hello Melvyn
I think your grandfather Frank Deeprose was born In Ninfield in 1879, son of Jesse Deeprose and Hephzibah Hannah Roberts.
I have a lot of info (census, BDMs, baps, burials, etc) for the Deeprose families, if you’d like to get in touch.

I’m looking for some family members too.
My Great Grandfather, William Henry Atkins 1842-1925 a Master Baker & Confectioner in Hastings married a Fanny Deeprose born Poole Dorset b1837-d25/11/1921. Fanny married William 1876 after my Great Grandmother passed away in 1873. They lived in Braybrooke Road Hastings, overlooking the railway and Wiiliams “Hygienic Bread Factory” on the other side of railway.
If you wish more details, please contact me.
Hi Natalie,
My dad’s family Deeprose were mainly from Hastings. My granddad was a farmer and married into the Swaine fishing family in Hastings.

Hi, my great grandfather was Frank Deeprose and I’ve traced our family history back to the 400’s! My 30th Great. Grandmother was Lady Godiva through the male Deeprose line!

Hi, my Great Grandfather was Frank Deeprose and I would be interested in any records etc you might have!
Jacqui
Hi Jacqui, thank you for contacting me. Very interesting to find that I might be connected to Lady Godiva as I live very near to Coventry.Did your grandfather have a brother named Jesse who was killed in the great war in France? It happened in March 1918. I can let you know the info that I have at some later date. The reason being is that we’re moving shortly and all my papers etc. are packed away. I only managed to trace my ancestry to 1605, thanks to help from others. We did however, find the grave where frank is buried, and visited about 4 years ago. Hope we will keep in touch.

Dear Ellen,
I’m researching the history of Hastings Unitarian Church, and have come across a ‘Mr Deeprose who gave a talk at the church on 8th April 1886 on the subject of George Stephenson. I don’t have his initials, unfortunately, but he would have to have been born before, say, 1861 to have been giving a talk to the South Terrace Mutual Improvement Society, which met at the church. Anything you could do to identify this person any information you have about him would be useful.
Thanks.
